The introduction of six new vaccines, including pneumococcal vaccine against pneumonia and rota virus vaccine against childhood diarrhea, in the country’s universal immunization programme has led to fewer deaths from common childhood infections. But what has helped is Swachh Bharat Mission, which promotes cleanliness and hygiene.
ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ 5 ವರ್ಷದೊಳಗಿನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಸಾವಿನ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಇಳಿಕೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. 2017ರಲ್ಲಿ 8,02,000 ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಸಾವನ್ನಪ್ಪಿದ್ದರೆ, ಅದಕ್ಕೂ 2 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ 10 ಲಕ್ಷದಷ್ಟು ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಸಾವನ್ನಪ್ಪಿದ್ದರು. ಇದರರ್ಥ 2 ಲಕ್ಷದಷ್ಟು ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಜೀವವನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ ನಿಯಂತ್ರಿಸಬಹುದಾದ ಹಾಗೂ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆ ನೀಡಬಹುದಾದ ಕಾಯಿಲೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಈ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಬಲಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
